The Life Insurance Shield

Not everyone needs Life Insurance, but if someone else is depending on you financially, then you will probably need some level of insurance to help support them if you die.

What we'll consider when we design the coverage to your needs.

The monthly cost of coverage varies wildly due to your health and especially your age, but with over a dozen companies to work with we will find some options for the majority of people, even with moderate health issues.

As an insurance broker I do not represent a single insurance company.  I represent you as your fiduciary.  I will present your information to a dozen or more companies and have them fight over your policy to ensure you have the best options available.

If you need more coverage than you can afford, then that isn’t the end of the game.  As frustrating as it may be to feel like you’re coming up short, this just brings us to how we will design plans to either build your savings to close that gap or to change your emergency plans to not need as much cash to survive.

I will not ask you to overpay for insurance, giving you a guaranteed problem today, in exchange for protecting against a possible problem many tomorrows from now.

Often, it is not practical to obtain a policy large enough to meet every need your survivors have.  Building policies to help them endure the initial shock of loss and give them enough time to grieve before making life changing decisions is the primary goal for any life insurance policy.

Even if this is the only goal accomplished by a policy, that extra six months or a year of space to grieve makes the biggest impact.  This can be done with a much smaller policy, making it attainable for the majority of people.

In an ideal world, as you approach your retirement years, you won’t need your life insurance.  By then, your retirement assets are hopefully large enough to generate income to keep your survivors supported.

If you’re a little short of that, there are some insurance products to help close that gap, but once you enter your 60s, obtaining insurance requires more strategy and thought to make a good decision.

Modern term life policies now often have additional benefits available that can offer significant partial payouts in the event of disability or other critical illnesses, such as advanced cancer.

That can make this style of policy ideal for insulating your home from the financial storms a loss of life will cause.

Coming up with a plan for what happens if you were to die is a little like foreshadowing your survivor’s grief.  My role will help find the right policy values so they can have options available while avoiding the worst stresses and financial crushes that can happen from a loss.
